April 5

Southward

The rented car arrives in the morning and I can finally start. First I will drive to the level south coast which has not been developed for tourists. The flowers are in full bloom, but the trees are still taking a little longer.

Mallorca looks rather dry in many places. This happens, because the rainwater trickles away quickly through the limestone. The old tower of Cala Pi is looking out for pirate ships. Only a photo-pirate called 'Flippi' is sneaking above the harbour entry into the village.

A cut in the country is shaping the harbour behind the tower. At the other end there is even a beach. Well, there's space for about 50 people...

Here a panoramic picture (102kb) of Cala Pi with the picturesque harbour and the mini-beach.
